Throughout July 2010

A concerned mother recently wrote into our program, requesting a message to help her daughter remain pure for marriage. In fact, day after day we receive letters from listeners regarding various areas of sexual purity, including struggles with homosexuality, pornography, and more.

What encouragement do we have against temptation, particularly temptation of a sexual nature?

Pastor Lloyd often reminds his listeners that when people give into their baser desires, it is a sign that they are missing a greater passion to guide their lives. Ultimately, the only way to overcome a sinful passion is with a more powerful, godly vision. In fact, the Scriptures say that without vision, the people perish. In other words, without God's revelation, the people are not restrained.

Throughout July 2010, when you support Bridging the Gap with a gift of any amount, you will receive "Love or Lust," one of Pastor Lloyd's messages in his popular series, From Creed to Conduct. In this message, Pastor Lloyd explains that when talking about love or lust, one must keep in mind that the real opposite of love is lust. Real love is giving, thinking of others, and putting their needs before your own. Lust is putting oneself first, seeking one's own desires before the needs of others. Jesus explained it best when He said, "Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it," (Luke 17:33). Learn how you too, can concentrate on loving others, and nurture godly passions with this important message from Bridging the Gap.
