PASTOR LLOYD PULLEY

Pastor Lloyd Pulley was born in Michigan in 1958. After the death of his mother when he was 4, Lloyd was raised by his godly grandmother, who prayed earnestly that he would someday serve God. Those prayers were answered in 1976 when one of Lloyd's classmates at Michigan State University shared the gospel with Lloyd, and he received Jesus Christ as his personal savior.

Lloyd quickly felt the call on his life to full-time ministry and decided to abandon a full academic scholarship, his pursuit of an engineering degree, and his college wrestling goals to serve God. He moved to California where he became an intern at Calvary Chapel West Covina (now Calvary Chapel Golden Springs). There he met his wife Karen (whom he affectionately calls his Armenian Princess) and began a family while training in the ministry. In 1984, 4 years after being ordained as an Associate Pastor, Lloyd felt the call on his life again, only this time it was to plant a church on the East Coast. He once again packed his bags and left a full-time position, his family, and friends to venture out into the unknown. God honored that faithfulness and in less than 20 years, Calvary Chapel Old Bridge (CCOB) has grown from 3 families to almost 5000 adults and children.

While Pastor Lloyd's focus has been on expositional teaching, he also has a strong heart for missions and has traveled throughout the world spreading the gospel and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. He is currently heard daily on Bridging the Gap, the radio-teaching ministry of CCOB, which airs on WRDR 89.7 FM (Central New Jersey) and 103.1 FM (Northern New Jersey and New York City), WZXV 99.7 FM (Rochester, NY), WJCX 99.5 FM (Bangor, ME), worldwide via www.bridgegap.org, and on other stations throughout the US and abroad.

In addition, Lloyd has authored four books: Walk in Love: Following God's Plan for Marriage, Patient Evangelism: Reaching the Multitudes One at a Time, Under His Influence: Yielding to the Work of the Holy Spirit, and Everyday Conversations, Eternal Impact.

Lloyd's teaching of God's truth is encouraging, inspirational, and challenging. His practical insights make the Bible easy to understand and applicable in everyday situations. Today's Program

Real Live Faith that Works (Part 1)
Sunday, April 19, 2015

So your walking strong in one area of life, but not so strong in other areas. No big deal, right? Wrong. Here's Pastor Lloyd Pulley.

As we study James chapter two today, we're going to discuss a subject of some controversy. The relationship between faith and works. James says faith without works is dead, while Paul said we are saved by faith, apart from any works! Is there a way for these two statements to coexist? We'll find out today on our broadcast.

SCRIPTURE: James 2:10-26
