Paul exhorts all believers to "be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10). The directive is clear - we as believers are to be strong IN THE LORD and in the power of HIS might. This means not trying to live the Christian life in our own way, with our self-directed pursuits and our presumed power. Instead, we are to take up the whole armor of God, so that we may be able to withstand in the evil day.
