This teaching is a reminder to trust in the Lord in the midst of the chaos and confusion of a fallen world. This passage reminds us to resist the pull of the flesh that tries to figure things out with our small understanding rather than looking to God's omniscience. This is the healthy way to go about life. Citing Isaiah 30 and Deuteronomy 20 as a model for warfare or in those times we are afraid, this teaches us to approach things God's way, because it is His strength that prevails. When done God's way, He spares us the harm that comes when we fail to trust Him.
